Philosophy of Teaching
Every child is unique and each requires a caring and
stimulating environment in which to grow emotionally and cognitively. It is
my purpose as an educator to instill the trust, empowerment, and respect in
students to help them meet their fullest potential as students and as
members of their school and community. By providing hands on learning
experiences, along with guidance and encouragement, meaningful and joyous
learning takes place. - I feel that students learn best through real world
experiences that are meaningful to them. -I believe in the importance of creating lessons based
on the interests of students. -I believe that educators must meet students their
students where they are academically, providing scaffolding throughout the
entire school year. -I believe that a teacher must practice differentiated
instruction to ensure success of all students in the classroom.
Classroom Management
The learning environment in the classroom is ultimately
my responsibility. It is crucial to create a comfortable, trusting, and
secure classroom community. A secure learning environment creates a
learning environment which enhances the cognitive and intellectual growth
of all students. A classroom must be stimulating and tailored to meet the
needs of every student. An encouraging, positive, and respectful classroom
community is key to bringing out the best in every
child, both academically and emotionally. When trusting relationships are
formed in the classroom, less behavior problems occur. -I believe that a welcoming and comfortable classroom
encourages the best in every child. -I believe in the power of getting to know the
interests and needs of every student. -I believe that I must address my expectations of students
at all times. -I believe that if students are given responsibility,
they work harder to obtain academic goals.
“It’s not what is poured into students
that counts, but what
is planted.”
